FIVE DAY RESIDENTIAL COOKERY COURSES & GOURMET WEEKENDS
For those living further afield and abroad our residential Cookery School breaks start in late October through until June and are 5 night all inclusive breaks.
Our cookery courses are designed to demonstrate and teach how easy & relaxed entertaining is. In France many an hour is spent around the table enjoying local, fresh food, simple local wine and great company. We are not just teaching cooking; we are showing you our way of life, French life. We visit markets, wineries, chocolate factories, drink coffee in cafes and visit the beautiful Bastide towns and countryside of the Lot-et-Garonne region of South West France.
For example; The 1st cookery course teaches choosing ingredients at beautiful French markets, restauranty starters, main courses and desserts. Professional techniques and tricks of the trade You will leave the course with a new confidence and eager to show your friends what you have learned and the ability to reproduce many starters, 2 or 3 main courses & desserts in your kitchen. With a little forward preparation we will demonstrate how to spend more time relaxing with your guests & how easy entertaining is and should be.

Emma’s passion is food and cooking and John’s is wine and all drinks. Emma worked as a chef all over the world and for many great chefs and John is an award winning sommelier working for some of the best hotels in the world. Having ran their own very successful restaurant for 15 years the dream of slowing down and living in a warm climate was too difficult to resist. We love to entertain and be entertained and people always commented on how relaxed our evenings were. We realised that people sometimes struggled when entertaining, found the whole experience exhausting and that they spent way to long slaving away in the kitchen and very little time with their guests.
The 5 day courses are relaxed and informative, very hands on and the lessons are conducted around our large kitchen table or, weather permitting, out on the covered terrace. Together we prepare dishes, talk a lot, share experiences and we show you the tips of the trade. We sit down and eat together, enjoy the food, share opinions and sample the local wines and drinks.
